TECH WEEK PLEASE READ
Well, it’s official ladies and gentlemen, we have a phenomenal show on our hands.
Everyone from tech, cast, to volunteer parents have been working their tails off to get this ready for a truly wonderful experience.
To make sure things run smoothly, I wanted to give you some reminders as we head into the home stretch (tech week) and performance weekend…
Marketing:
Please tell everyone you know about the show, I cannot tell you how hard each and every child has worked to make this show happen. I have seen one student spend 3 days building fake pears another student standing in the mirror doing the same step over and over and over for days to make sure they get the right angle of their arms so the blend with their cast mates.
I’ve heard parents’ ears bleed at home while. their student singing the same. line. of music. over AND. over. Just to make sure they don’t get a note and let their choral section down during rehearsal the next day. I could write an entire book about the efforts your kids put forth in the last months….They deserve an audience of thousands, let’s at least get them the hundreds we can muster! (poster attached for easy sharing)

COSTUMES/SHOES:
Students need to make sure they have proper undergarments/socks for the show.
MOST students are asked to provide their own shoes.
Since this is a modern show, some students have volunteered their own clothing items for their characters/comfortability with dance BUT they are by no means MANDATORY requests. Please email me if you student is saying we are making them buy something, it is most likely not true (worth mentioning because someone always tries to weasel their way into new shoes through this 😊 )
Students are asked to provide their own makeup. No need to buy new BUT if you want- there are stage makeup kits on amazon (Ben Nye brand) for $20
Boys included need a little foundation and color put back on their faces/under the eyes. Dollar store makeup is just fine for most of us (esp. males).
(Why? - OUR STAGE IS HUGE and there are at least 6 lights hitting them at all times, we need their features to pop up there)
