We are working on our big fall show THESE SHINING LIVES.
They were allowed to pick a technical area of interest to work on the one act production for a majority of this semester. (EXAMPLES: COSTUMES, MAKEUP/HAIR, SCENIC DESIGN, LIGHTS/SOUND or PROPS). Students have been working within those groups to collect historical data/information for their design research and collaboration. They will put their designs/ideas on paper this week. Moving forward they will be working with a set budget to help make their ideas come to life while being economically conservative. They will experiment, plan, re-experiment, build, install and execute all of solidified plans. Encourage your student to use their imagination, and to WRITE THINGS DOWN or SKETCH IT OUT. You can also watch a movie/tv show with them that takes place in the 20's and 30's to cultivate inspiration and bring the topic home. You may be able to teach them something/come up with an idea they can bring to class!
